I am excited to get to work on my goals this month. I didn’t make a list for April so I don’t have any progress to report. I’m not going to work on too many goals this month, but the ones I am going to work on are time consuming and difficult. Well, difficult for me anyway.
It’s time once again for my monthly “Must Reads” post where I list upcoming releases I am looking forward to. My list for May has a lot of nonfiction on it. If you’re not a nonfiction reader, don’t despair. I have few fiction titles for you too. One of these is a new novel from a bestselling, Pulitzer Prize nominated author. Want to know who? Read on.
Time to review February and set some goals for March. I feel like I got a lot of stuff done in February, just not the stuff on my list. I hurt my back so I have spent most of the past week on the couch with a heating pad. I could have got more done if I hadn’t kept putting stuff of until the end of the month. Despite only getting two of my four goals I still feel pretty good about last month. My goals are a bit more ambitious for March, but not by too much.
I have read and loved many books. In every book that I have loved there is usually at least one character that I adore. So you would think coming up with a list of fictional characters I’d like to be friends with would be easy, wouldn’t you?
It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. It seems like the traits that make a character interesting and entertaining on the page, aren’t things that would make them a good friend in real life. After browsing my book shelves a bit I was finally able to think of a couple fictional characters that I think would make excellent friends.
I am a big fan of Jenny Lawson so I was really looking forward to reading her newest book, Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things. Jenny Lawson is also known as The Bloggess which is the title of her wonderful blog. If you haven’t read her blog before you should seriously check it out. My favorite post is called And that’s why you should learn to pick your battles, otherwise known as the Beyonce the chicken post. It has done the rounds on the internet a few times so you have probably read it, but if you haven’t you should go read it right now.
No, seriously. Read it right now. I’ll wait…
Well? Hilarious right?
Her new book is even more awesome.
My “Must Reads” are a list of books that are coming out this month that I am looking forward to. I haven’t read any of these titles yet, they are just books that I think sound good. I’ve included an excerpt from the publisher’s description as well as my own thoughts as to why I think it looks good.
Here is my list for the 101 in 1001 Challenge. As the name suggests a 101 in 1001 challenge is a list of 101 things that you intend to complete in 1001 days. My challenge started January 1, 2016 and will run until September 28, 2018. If you want to know more about the 101 in 1001 challenge you should read this post I wrote about it, The 101 In 1001 Challenge: What It Is And Why You Should Join.
